Softball Preview: Weiss Wolves vs. Little River Academy Bumblebees
Weiss has won three straight games at home, while Little River Academy has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Wolves will welcome the Bumblebees at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Weiss was able to grind out a solid victory over Hendrickson, taking the game 9-6.
Jordynn Booe was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Booe was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Bel Larsen was a standout: she scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alexis Herrera, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Little River Academy made easy work of Rockdale on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Bumblebees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Little River Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Weiss, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
