Soccer Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Clinton and Union County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Dragons fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. If Clinton were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Union County when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clinton dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Union County, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Union County didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 loss against Knoxville A on the 24th. Hopefully Clinton paid attention to the Patriots' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
