Baseball Game Preview: Catholic Central Irish vs. Russia Raiders

The Catholic Central Irish will head out to square off against the Russia Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Catholic Central came out on top against Riverside on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Irish walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Pirates.

Brody Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Catholic Central is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-13 otherwise. Adams was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ben Bramel, who went 2-for-4 with one double. Another was Ben Thomas, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Russia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Oakwood 8-7.

Russia's record is now 15-10. As for Catholic Central, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
