Basketball Recap: Rifle Comes Up Short

Rifle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against the Glenwood Springs Demons, falling 83-46. The Bears lost against the Demons in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 92-31 score last time.

Rifle's loss came despite strong showings from Alex Gonzalez and John Langstaff. Gonzalez posted 14 points and seven rebounds, while Langstaff had 12 points. Adan Medina was another key player, putting up seven points.

Rifle's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Glenwood Springs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Rifle has already played their next contest (against Steamboat Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Glenwood Springs will take on Coal Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
