MaxPreps California Regional Bowl Game Matchups

The CIF has made a slight adjustment to the California regional playoff bowl games, which has reshaped this week's MaxPreps California Regional Bowl Game matchups.

After playing with a small school open division (under 1,250 enrollment) last year, the CIF has decided to do away with that division and create a Class 6-A division instead. Teams that were previously chosen for the small schools open division will now be slotted in a division based on their computer ranking.

A total of 14 new teams join the regional matchups with Milpitas the highest entrant as one of the two teams in the North 2-AA division.

MaxPreps determines its regional matchup predictions based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Care is also taken to avoid regional matchups between teams from the same section when possible. The team's record from last year and its preseason computer ranking are included in the preseason regional matchups.
