Basketball Game Preview: Central Plains Oilers vs. Ellinwood Eagles

The Central Plains Oilers will challenge the Ellinwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Central Plains was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-32 to St. John.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ellinwood beat Hoisington 54-48 on Friday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Central Plains' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-4. As for Ellinwood, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Central Plains didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Ellinwood in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. Will Central Plains repeat their success, or does Ellinwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
