Lake Minneola skates past East Ridge with ease

The Lake Minneola Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 81-50 blowout they got on the road against East Ridge. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Lake Minneola has managed all season.

Lake Minneola's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Blackwell, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Isom, who scored 16 points along with four steals.

East Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Corman, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Vazquez, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Ridge were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their eighth loss (out of eight games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Lake Minneola has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for East Ridge, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.

Lake Minneola will head out on the road to face off against Eustis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eustis will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for East Ridge, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Leesburg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Ridge in Florida (Leesburg is ranked 53rd, while East Ridge is ranked 658th).
