Baseball Recap: Westminster Academy Comes Up Short

Westminster Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the West Boca Raton Bulls. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this match were averaging 3.77 runs allowed.

Westminster Academy got a good showing from Juan Sarmiento, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Westminster Academy is 3-1 when Sarmiento allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Jorge Ferrer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2.
