Volleyball Recap: Wickenburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bagdad on Tuesday, Wickenburg came back down to earth. The Wranglers lost 3-0 to the North Valley Christian Academy Lions on Thursday. The Wranglers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-7, 25-10.

Mallory Murphy paced Wickenburg's offense, picking up three kills. Murphy got some help from Lola Drescher and her three assists. Yoami Bool controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

North Valley Christian Academy was led to victory by Brooke Lovas and Mackenzie Benso. Lovas had 25 assists and five digs, while Benso had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most assists Lovas has posted over her last 11 matches.

Wickenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for North Valley Christian Academy, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-7.

Wickenburg has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Kingman Academy on the 29th. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against The Gregory School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
