Baseball Recap: Chowchilla Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Chowchilla, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fresno Christian Eagles a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Tribe as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Dillon Watkins's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Zayden Kobzoff was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Isaak Barbosa was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Chowchilla's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Fresno Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chowchilla will take on rival Parlier at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fresno Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Yosemite at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
