Football Recap: Prescott Comes Up Short at Home Against Northwestern

Prescott unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Northwestern Tigers 40-7 on Friday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Northwestern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryer Burkhart, who rushed for 85 yards and one score on only nine carries. Another back making a difference was Mason Chell, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prescott is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Durand-Arkansaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwestern, they will square off against Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
