Softball Recap: West Valley Comes Up Short

West Valley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They came up short against the Deer Park Stags, falling 12-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

As for Deer Park, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

For Deer Park's part, Hailey Thompson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Reiter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Meyers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

West Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-0 victory against North Central on the 3rd. As for Deer Park, they have also already played their next contest, an 18-2 win against Pullman on the 2nd.
