Football Game Preview: North Harrison Cougars vs. Clarksville Generals

North Harrison is 8-1 against Clarksville since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Generals at 7:00 p.m. North Harrison has given up an average of 28.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, North Harrison came up short against Silver Creek and fell 41-28. Despite 133 more yards than the Dragons, the Cougars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Loss or not, North Harrison got some senior leadership from Caden Hoehn and Bryce Fessel. Hoehn rushed for 81 yards and four touchdowns, while Fessel rushed for 208 yards. Fessel's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 136 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Clarksville was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by Scottsburg and fell 70-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 23, 2019, but that streak is no more.

North Harrison dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.3 points over those games. As for Clarksville, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. North Harrison has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 246.1 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Clarksville, though, as they've been averaging only 65.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Everything came up roses for North Harrison against Clarksville in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-6 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
