Basketball Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Comes Up Short

Ansley/Litchfield had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it four. They took a blow against the Elm Creek Buffaloes, falling 70-31. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ansley/Litchfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Chayton Jensen, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Schulte, who scored six points.

As for Elm Creek, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Quin Oberg produced another solid performance shooting 71% from the field on his way to 25 points and five boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Elm Creek's points. Ethan Fries was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansley/Litchfield will be home for the holidays to greet Axtell on Thursday. As for Elm Creek, they will host Minden at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
