Basketball Recap: Splendora Comes Up Short

Splendora lost against Lumberton back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell 42-36 to the Raiders. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lumberton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gracelyn Herrington, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Herrington a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (33%). Addison Younger also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Splendora now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Lumberton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Splendora has already played their next game, a 52-51 victory against Nacogdoches on the 22nd. As for Lumberton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-41 defeat against Tomball on the 22nd.
