More than three-quarters of big and physical linebacker's tackles were solo.

Solomon Tuliaupupu, one of the nation's top linebackers, will sign his letter of intent to USC.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior from national champion Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) picked the Trojans over Notre Dame, UCLA and Oklahoma.

He made his announcement just a few minutes ago on national television.

Tuliaupupu had 31 college offers and might have had even more if not for a foot injury that derailed him the final two games.

Ranked the No. 86 top recruit overall by 247Sports composite, Tuliaupupu transferred from Claremont (Calif.) to Mater Dei before his senior year. He had 63 tackles on the season, 46 of which were solo.

Tuliaupupu was a first-team MaxPreps All-American. He'll join two other Mater Dei All-Americans at USC: quarterback JT Daniels and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, both 5-star recruits.
