Basketball Recap: Johnson Skates Past SA Roosevelt with Ease

Johnson won the last time they faced SA Roosevelt and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Johnson Jaguars breezed by the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders to the tune of 56-23. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jaguars had established a 32 point advantage.

Johnson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sara Mcfarlin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Mcfarlin a new career-high. Jera Salters was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Johnson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Johnson's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for SA Roosevelt, their defeat was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Johnson will take on Reagan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Reagan will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Johnson surely won't give up without a fight. As for SA Roosevelt, they will square off against LEE at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. SA Roosevelt is facing LEE at the right time seeing as LEE is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
