Softball Game Preview: King's Academy Knights vs. Carlmont Scots

The King's Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Carlmont Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. King's Academy hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Friday, King's Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Willow Glen and fell 2-1.

Katia Nesper spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, King's Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Bennette, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Carlmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Notre Dame.

Carlmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for King's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
