Basketball Recap: Hickory Takes a Loss

If Hickory was feeling good fresh off their 75-49 takedown of Deep Creek last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hickory Hawks were beaten by the King's Fork Bulldogs 77-44 on Tuesday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Hickory's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for King's Fork, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Hickory will be playing at home against Grassfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King's Fork, they will head out to challenge Nansemond River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nansemond River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully King's Fork likes a good challenge.
