Basketball Recap: Logan Lefebvre Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

Ripon won the last time they faced Hughson and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ripon Indians strolled past the Hughson Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Ripon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Lefebvre out in front who went 9 of 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Lefebvre a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Madoski, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Ripon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

Hughson's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Gehrke, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, and Karam Kang, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Urquidez, who had eight points.

The victory got Ripon back to even at 8-8. As for Hughson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

When Ripon and Hughson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Ripon will try to stop River Islands' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ripon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Hughson will try to stop Ripon Christian's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
