Basketball Recap: Scott County Central Takes a Loss

Scott County Central lost against Charleston back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Scott County Central Braves were outmatched by the Charleston Bluejays and fell 76-45. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Treshaun Schandon was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards for Charleston. What's more, Schandon also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Deshaun Henderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Scott County Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Charleston, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Scott County Central will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westwood Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Westwood Baptist Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season. As for Charleston, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Woodland comes in on six and Charleston on three.
