Basketball Recap: Sky View Comes Up Short

Sky View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Canyon View Falcons.

When it comes to explaining why Sky View lost, don't look at Mollee Allen. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 19 points and 15 boards. Allen is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Emma Spackman was another key player, putting up six points.

Canyon View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tayla Blackner, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. Blackner is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Erin Hallows, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Sky View's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Canyon View, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Sky View has already played their next matchup, a 62-43 victory against Hunter on the 6th. As for Canyon View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-40 win against Carbon on the 6th.
