Baseball Recap: Lynn Vo-Tech Takes a Loss

Lynn Vo-Tech extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They fell 7-4 to the Greater Lawrence Tech Reggies. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Reggies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Greater Lawrence Tech, they pushed their record up to 4-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

For Greater Lawrence Tech's part, Randy Fernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Fernandez a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Andy Segura was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Josue Reyes was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynn Vo-Tech will challenge Boston Latin Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greater Lawrence Tech, they will take on Greater Lowell Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
