Soccer Game Preview: Orange vs. Rancho Alamitos

The Orange Panthers will take on the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Orange fell victim to Sonora and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against El Modena, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Vaqueros can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while the Vanguards are ranked 129th).

Rancho Alamitos' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Orange, they now have a losing record at 4-5-1.

Orange was able to grind out a solid victory over Rancho Alamitos in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, winning 2-0. Will Orange repeat their success, or does Rancho Alamitos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
