Fort Wayne Northrop came out on top against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Bruins blew past the Knights 11-5. Considering the Bruins have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brilee Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Baylee Huth was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Key, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fort Wayne Northrop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Bishop Luers only managed eight hits.

Fort Wayne Northrop has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.
