Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Academy Tigers vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

The Trinity Academy Tigers will head out to square off against the Ravenscroft Ravens at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with 13 losses in a row dating back to last season, Trinity Academy turned things around against St. Thomas More Academy on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Chancellors 5-3.

Mike McKeon made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McKeon was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Braden Cantrell was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tommy Colgan, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Durham Academy 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won four in a row.

Trinity Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ravenscroft, their record now sits at 3-4.

Trinity Academy might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Ravenscroft in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Trinity Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
