Football Recap: Conrad Skates Past Powell County with Ease

Conrad's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Powell County Wardens 49-0. The Cowboys' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Carsen Sullivan, who picked up 96 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 131 yards on only nine carries. Those 131 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Conrad also got a significant boost from Tegan Jones, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.

Conrad's run defense was locked in: Powell County could only muster 2.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Jones for the heroic effort on defense: he. Conrad didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged nine.

Conrad didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Sullivan picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory got Conrad back to even at 2-2. As for Powell County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conrad will challenge Wolf Point/Frazer/Lustre Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Powell County, they will take on Loyola-Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
