Cary and Green Hope are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Imps will host the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cary has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with six straight defeats, while Green Hope will come in with five straight victories.

Cary fell victim to Holly Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-0 to the Golden Hawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Cary saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Mathis, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Green Hope owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cary by a score of 4-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jackson Wall looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Dean was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Troy Haynes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Green Hope's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cary, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
