Basketball Recap: Kendrick Falls Despite Big Games from Andrew Spivey and Quae'shaun Mahone

Kendrick lost against Shaw back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kendrick Cherokees came up short against the Shaw Raiders, falling 60-40. The matchup marked the Cherokees' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kendrick's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Quae'Shaun Mahone, who posted five points and three steals, and Andrew Spivey, who scored seven points. Mahone is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Leading Shaw to victory were Alenzo Talley and Kristian Gibson. Talley earned 20 points, while Gibson put up 17 points. Talley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Kendrick is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-4. As for Shaw, they pushed their record up to 6-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Kendrick has already played their next game, a 68-64 defeat against Columbus on the 16th. As for Shaw, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 91-40 loss against Carver on the 20th.
