Portville dropped down to 17-2 on Saturday, ending the team's 11-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Webster Schroeder Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Portville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ana Haynes, who had ten digs, and Ali Haynes, who had 13 kills, three digs, and two blocks. Ali has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 14 times she's played.

As for Webster Schroeder, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-1-1 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 30th.

Webster Schroeder's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Siphakongviseth, who had 18 digs and two assists.

Portville has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Fredonia on the 29th. As for Webster Schroeder, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Sutherland on the 27th.
