Soccer Game Preview: Warhill vs. Poquoson

The Warhill Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Poquoson Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Warhill is headed into Friday's match following a draw, the team's first since March 28. They and Jamestown finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Poquoson gave up the first goal on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Nandua. Poquoson haven't had any issues with Nandua recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Warhill's draw makes their record 6-2-3 this season. As for Poquoson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1.

Everything went Warhill's way against Poquoson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Warhill made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
