Baseball Recap: Lake Placid Comes Up Short

Lake Placid lost against St. Albans last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lake Placid Dragons fell just short of the St. Albans Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lake Placid saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Von Merveldt, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Eddie Baldwin also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lake Placid's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for St. Albans, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Lake Placid will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Sebring at 7:00 p.m. As for St. Albans, they will square off against True North Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. True North Classical Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something St. Albans surely won't give up without a fight.
