Baseball Recap: Kimberly Has No Trouble Against Filer

Kimberly's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Filer Wildcats with a sharp 16-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Cash Gardner was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Maikranz, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Kimberly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Kimberly moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Filer, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimberly will host Preston at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Filer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wood River at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
