Soccer Recap: Southwest Guilford Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ragsdale on Thursday, Southwest Guilford came back down to earth. The Cowboys fell just short of the Northwest Guilford Vikings by a score of 1-0 on Monday. While losing is never fun, Southwest Guilford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Northwest Guilford are ranked 29th).

Southwest Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 14-7-1. As for Northwest Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-3-3 record this season.

Southwest Guilford has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Page on the 7th. As for Northwest Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Western Guilford on the 7th.
