Recap: Terre Haute South Vigo Braves vs. Bloomington South Panthers
The Terre Haute South Vigo Braves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bloomington South. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Terre Haute South Vigo of the 64-59 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josh Morgan, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Treva Branch, who scored ten points.
Terre Haute South Vigo's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Bloomington South, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terre Haute South Vigo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evansville Bosse at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Evansville Bosse is ranked 127th, while Terre Haute South Vigo is ranked 146th). As for Bloomington South, they will head out on the road to square off against Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Silver Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
