            Volleyball Preview: Washburn Pirates vs. West Greene Buffaloes        
        
		
        
        
            After both having extra time off, the Washburn Pirates and the West Greene Buffaloes will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Washburn is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last nine games.
Last Thursday, Washburn made easy work of Eagleton College & Career Academy  and carried off  a  3-0 win.
West Greene not only won  last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since September 22nd (when they won  3-0). They blew past Happy Valley 3-0. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  victory against them.
 The  3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant West Greene was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-4,  25-5.
 West Greene's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Washburn, their victory bumped their record up to 23-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of  Tuesday's  matchup:  Washburn has really dialed in their serving  this season,  having  averaged 9.4  aces per game. However, it's not like West Greene struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 12  aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
 Washburn couldn't quite get it done against West Greene in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024 as they fell  3-1. Thankfully for the Pirates,  Morgan Brown (who  had 27  digs and two  aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
