Softball Recap: Aptos Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Aptos won the last time they faced Harbor and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mariners' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pirates a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Emma Burgueno, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailani Aguayo, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Aptos lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

Aptos pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harbor, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
