Baseball Recap: Prairie Du Chien Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Prairie du Chien, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lancaster Flying Arrows by a score of 8-5 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Blackhawks as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Bryce Lenzendorf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Lenzendorf, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Westin Marx, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Prairie du Chien's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Lancaster, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Prairie du Chien and Lancaster could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Blackhawks will square off against Aquinas at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (250 vs. 74). Meanwhile, Lancaster (ranked 248th) will meet Dodgeville (ranked 112th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
