Basketball Recap: Caliche Comes Up Short

Caliche lost against Briggsdale back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Caliche Buffaloes lost to the Briggsdale Falcons on the road by a 42-28 margin. The contest marked the Buffaloes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Briggsdale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bailey Loyd led the charge by going 8 for 16 on her way to 21 points and three steals. Loyd continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Brown, who posted 13 points.

Caliche's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Briggsdale, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Caliche will face off against Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Briggsdale, they will square off against Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
