Volleyball Recap: Monroeville Eagles vs. Carey Blue Devils

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Monroeville had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Carey Blue Devils. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles who have now won six matches in a row.

Monroeville never let Carey on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.

Leading Monroeville to victory were Addison Homan and Grace Stieber. Homan had 26 digs, while Stieber had ten digs.

Monroeville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Monroeville pushed their record up to 24-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Carey, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

After both having extra time off, Monroeville and Tinora will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
