Basketball Recap: Logan Simon's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ingalls over Hodgeman County

Ingalls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Hodgeman County Longhorns, falling 57-34. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Longhorns are ranked 116th).

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Simon, who posted eight points. What's more, Simon also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in March of 2024. Lane Lightner was another key player, putting up six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hodgeman County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Schroeder, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ian Reece, who went 5-for-10 en route to 11 points and six boards.

Ingalls' defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Hodgeman County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Ingalls has already played their next contest, a 61-23 loss against South Central on the 17th. As for Hodgeman County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-41 victory against Satanta on the 17th.
