Basketball Game Preview: Glenvar Highlanders vs. Floyd County Buffaloes

The Glenvar Highlanders will venture away from home to face off against the Floyd County Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Glenvar is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Radford just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Bobcats 51-47.

Meanwhile, Floyd County suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 84-55 loss at the hands of Carroll County. The Buffaloes' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Floyd County's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Glenvar, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.

Glenvar skirted past Floyd County 61-59 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenvar since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
