Basketball Recap: Chesterton Triumphs

Chesterton proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 34) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Brownsburg Bulldogs out 54-51. The 54-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Addison, who posted 13 points. Addison has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Brandon Addison was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Chesterton's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Brownsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterton and East Chicago Central will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Chicago Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season. Brownsburg will take on Avon in a holiday battle at at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Avon will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Brownsburg surely won't give up without a fight.
