Basketball Recap: Concord Academy Victorious

Concord Academy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They snuck past the Marvin Ridge Mavericks with a 60-56 win.

Concord Academy found their leader in sophomore Justice Alexander, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Alexander is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when she doesn't). Taylor Smith was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory got Concord Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Marvin Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Concord Academy will welcome Greensboro Day School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marvin Ridge, they will square off against Charlotte Country Day School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks are facing the Buccaneers at the right time seeing as the Buccaneers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
