Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported Thursday that high school basketball star
Darius Bazley of
Princeton (Cincinnati, Ohio) will play next season in the NBA G League.
Bazley, pegged as the No. 8 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 by
247Sports, is the first high school player to bypass college in favor of the NBA's developmental league.
The 6-foot-9 forward was a Division I first team All-State selection this season after averaging 15.3 points per game for Princeton, which went 23-4.
Bazley signed with Syracuse in November but that will not stand in the way of his decision to turn professional.
