Softball Recap: Castle Takes a Loss

After flying high against Evansville Mater Dei on Thursday, Castle came back down to earth. The Knights fell 4-0 to the Cathedral Fighting Irish on Saturday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Castle got a good showing from Bailey Gravens, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Gravens has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Cathedral, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 12-0.

Castle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Brownsburg on the 26th. As for Cathedral, they will be playing at home against Lawrence North at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
