Pueblo South entered their tilt with Pueblo County on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 46-45 W against the Pueblo County Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Pueblo South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caeden Herrera led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Herrera has become a key player for Pueblo South: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 2-8 otherwise. Christian Vigil was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

Pueblo County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Barrett Oringdulph, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds. Oringdulph is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lowry Kirkland, who posted 12 points.

The win got Pueblo South back to even at 8-8. As for Pueblo County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Pueblo South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-54 defeat against Palmer Ridge on the 3rd. As for Pueblo County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 39-36 loss against Pueblo East on the 4th.
