Softball Recap: Bay Port Triumphs

Bay Port came out on top against Manitowoc Lincoln on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fifth inning. The Pirates took their matchup against the Ships 11-8. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Ships recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Elly Rau was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan VandenBranden, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Bay Port was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manitowoc Lincoln only posted a batting average of .241.

Bay Port's record now sits at 9-15. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Bay Port has already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Freedom on the 18th. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-1 win against Green Bay Southwest on the 19th.
