Volleyball Recap: Vanguard Academy Comes Up Short

Vanguard Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Salt Lake Academy Griffins. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Griffins from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-12, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Sarah Mason paced Vanguard Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Mason got some help from Aly Kingston S. and her 13 assists. Madelyn Bryant controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Vanguard Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Salt Lake Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Vanguard Academy will take on Jordan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Salt Lake Academy, they will challenge Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
