Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Catholic Lions vs. Bristol Central Rams

The Northwest Catholic Lions will square off against the Bristol Central Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Northwest Catholic needed a bit of extra time to put away Conard. They won by a run and slipped past the Red Wolves 10-9. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Mason Dolch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gavin George, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bristol Central waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the River Hawks. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Northwest Catholic's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Bristol Central, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Northwest Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Bristol Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2017, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
